Tesco have recently submitted plans to Bolton Council for their new store on the former Pennine Pet factory at Lever Street, Little Lever, Bolton, Lancashire.
The intention is to replace the Tesco Metro store in the town centre on Market Street with this larger supermarket if the scheme receives approval. The new Lever Street store is expected to create 150 full-time and part-time vacancies, so once the existing 50 employees of the Metro have transferred to the new Lever Street store the other 100 staff will need to be recruited.
The public consultations were carried out on the plans last month which received a lot of positive feedback from the locals.
The new store is intended to only sell groceries and limited electrical lines to avoid rivalling any of the larger Tesco Extra stores.
