Social Media Intern
The role of a Social Media Intern is an unpaid role to mainly assist with the social media marketing projects and marketing initiatives. Part of the role will allow you to learn the industry, and how to make social media a productive part an overall marketing strategy.
Interns within the Social Media industry are expected to have gained some experience of how social media works, and you must be able to think strategically in order to see how social media fits into the marketing strategy of a business corporation, by using it to build long-lasting relationships.
An internship is a ‘learn-on-the-job role, and is usually a part time position as and when required. Progression is available from successful completion of the internship.
The application process is usually the submission of your CV and cover letter to either the recruitment department. This will then be followed by an interview, and possibly trial to see if the role is suitable to your skill set and knowledge.
Interns will be required to possess the following:
Marketing or Media related qualification – Some internships require Graduates with degree grading of a First, 2:1 or, in some cases, a 2:2
Knowledge of creating new profiles and pages on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc
Ability to upload videos, photo albums, etc
Ability to find new users to follow/friend/like our business
Writing and posting blog posts/tweets/updates, etc
Willingness to learn and grow, ask pertinent questions

I believe that my Media Studies degree, achieved at the (University/college) at a grade of 2:1, combined with my practical experience, makes me an excellent candidate for this position.
My awareness of Public and Media Relations as a result of my studies has prepared me for the specific industry, such as the study and completion of modules such as Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Effects of Mass Media on Society and Public Relations.
