Cover Letter Example for a School Secretary
Dear Sir/Madam,
Application for a School Secretary
I have recently seen your advert for a School Secretary and I would like to apply for this role.
I have had a number of years (say how many if true) experience in a secretarial position and am very interested in working as a school secretary. I understand the importance of education to society and feel that as I am an organised secretary that I could perform well in a school setting.
I have researched the role thoroughly and know that this role involves designing newsletters, typing letters, liaising with catering in terms of writing up menus etc, dealing with monies for school dinners or after school clubs etc. It is a very varied and busy role and this is something I am very interested in.
I work well as part of a team or on my own initiative and work well under pressure. I thrive off dealing with new challenges and feel that as my communication skills are excellent that I can relate to pupils, parents and teachers, colleagues alike.
I have enclosed my CV with my letter which details my previous experiences. I am available for interview at your convenience should you be interested in my skills.
Thank you for taking the time to read my CV and covering letter and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely

A lot of the time you will probably find that they will want someone with school experience too. Exceptional circumstances can mean you could get an interview if you havent had the direct experience but have worked with children before.
