I remember someone saying once that if they could not find a job, they would take anything even if it was cleaning. Would anyone else do this?
Personally I think it would depend on whether I could afford to be out of work. Not only financially but whether a gap on my CV would look bad and whether I thought working, even if the job was not in my normal field of work, would help or hinder me in finding something else. It may also depend on how long I had been out of work.
I would not take a cleaning job because I hate cleaning! However, if I really needed the money, I would consider applying for jobs that may not completely match my skill set and these would be ones that I could do confidently.
