Last updated : 3 September 2012
Fit4Free, a fast growing health club business, will soon open its latest fitness centre at Worcester’s St Martin’s Quarter in Lowesmoor. The centre, which is a 20,000 sq ft bespoke site, is the first development to join the new Asda supermarket, which opened in March, in the area.
While the fit-out on the gym continues, the company has already advertised for the five full-time and seven part-time jobs needed to run the centre. Positions range from fitness advisers to cleaners. The business has received around 60 applications for those jobs to date.
Fit4Free’s general manager stated that the company’s philosophy included becoming a part of the local community by negotiating discounts for its members with a number of businesses in the area. The idea is that members using those discounts could save as much as it costs for their Fit4Free membership.
The fitness centre will provide a range of fitness classes as well as a wide variety of exercise equipment.
A spokesman for the St Martin’s Quarter stated that a number of retail businesses and restaurants and expressed an interest in other units in the development but was unable to provide any names while negotiations are ongoing. However, further announcements are expected in the near future.
