Why do my interviewer ask personal questions?

I am a fresh graduated student of Business Marketing and Administration. I went for an interview recently for a position as Marketing Executive. A middle aged lady was interviewing me and I think I answered all of the questions professionally as most people will do in interviews. However I was quite surprised with some non job related questions such as if I have a boyfriend, what is my boyfriend working as and where does he working at. Why was she asking all of those questions and I did not hear from her anymore so I wonder if I got those questions wrong.
