I’m a 22 year old male living in Blackpool, UK. I have unfortunately been unemployed for around 5-6 years due to health issues. I’m an insulin dependent diabetic & have also been suffering from Idiopathic Hypersomnia which basically means it’s extremely hard for me to wake up early and I often sleep for around 16+ hours.
During the past several months, I’ve been slowly overcoming my health issues and I’m feeling like getting back to work fairly soon, as I’ve been missing out on the luxuries that extra cash gets you, such as nice clothes, the latest mobile phones, cars & many other things. I’ve been living on Disability allowance for the past 5-6 years and I just feel it’s time I got myself out there & started making more of an effort to get back into work as I don’t want to live off the Government for the rest of my life.
Years ago when I was working, I had several jobs. I was a “shelf stacker” in a supermarket, a waiter 3 times, a carpet fitter amongst other low paying jobs which I just absolutely hated at the time. I got decent enough grades in High School (6 C’s at GCSE level) so I just feel that working in a supermarket or something of that nature isn’t really what I want to be doing, as (in MY opinion) I’m much cleverer than that.
During the past 6 years or so, I’ve been very much into fitness/bodybuilding and keeping in shape, and so I feel that if I were to get a job, it’d need to be something active, which made me think of perhaps a builder/landscape gardener or something along that nature, which keeps you on your feet all day. I feel I’d actually enjoy this aswell, as I love to keep active. I don’t really want to go for anything like a Personal Trainer as I lack confidence in speaking to people face to face, therefore I feel this type of job wouldn’t really suit me.
Anyway, I can’t really think of any type of job that pays a decent amount of cash & will keep me active all day, other than building work or landscape gardening. Therefore, if you guys could suggest some to me and point me in the right direction in order to get back into work properly, it’d be GREATLY appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
