Last updated : 2 February 2011
The question is What to wear to an interview for a waitressing job? Can everybody post his / her opinions about it?
I don’t really have much knowledge about what should ladies wear for waitresses job interview but i saw a suggestion that i thought must be just right.
clothing
either black trousers / knee length skirt & stockings / tights, Either a white or not to bright blouse, sensible nice black shoes.
Hair –
nice secure up-do (likely to be prefered working in food enviroment)
Make-up
simple natural looking make-up, eye make -up esp eye shadow go with brownish colours or similar.
Teeth-
ensure very clean and not yellowish.
Nails – not to long, shapped nicely with clear nail polish to give them a litle shine
I think waitresses should try to smile a bit because they are usually very miserable.
What do you think?
Good question. I would say just about what you would wear to any interview. Although as it is for waitressing I would forgo the trousers and go with the skirt (knee length shortest!) with tights or stockings. White blouse, and jacket. Hair tied back if it is long (as it will need to be if you get the job), minimal makeup – dont go in heavy make up. Nice nails, manicure before you go if you can, so they all look nice and neat
The makeup, nails and hair situation is quite important if you’re applying for a job as a waitress.
If you look like somebody who can’t live without their fake nails or somebody who must apply fake tan and false eyelashes every day, you’re probably not the kind of person they’re looking for.
You should try to appear hygienic and avoid false nails, fake eyelashes, fake tan, hair extensions and anything like that. Tie your hair up in a neat bun, and wear a smart suit. Avoid skirts that come above your knee, however.
