What is the difference between aptitude test and psychometric test?
An aptitude measures your intellect and potential for understanding and learning new theories and concepts, and include verbal reasoning, abstract reasoning, …. Your score will depend on your ability to learn, understand or problem solve depending on each test.
Psychometric tests measure your understanding and how well you remember the facts and theories that you have been taught and will expect you to use formulae and concepts which you should remember. These tests include Mechanical Reasoning, …. and will depend on your knowledge.
Psychometric tests depend on you having a good memory and being able to retain information too. Both kinds of tests are usually based on some sort of scenario. If one of these will be a part of your interview, check up beforehand to give you the chance to prepare thoroughly.
