Last updated : 15 January 2014
I had to leave my nursing degree for one reason or another, but I am now wanting to do a Health and Social Care degree with the Open University.
The thing is I’m not quite sure what I can do career wise with this degree.
My initial aim was to do a PGCE after I’d gained the degree, so that I can teach. However I don’t think I’ll be able to do this straight away.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Well, first of all it’s important to know that there are many jobs that you can apply for with a degree in anything at all, particularly in areas like management.
However, if your health and social care is something that you are interested in, then have you considered care home work? Or social work? You may find that you have to do another qualification after this one, but there are certainly things that you could do to keep you busy until you’re able to do your teacher training.
