UK job market rises highest for the past 43 years

It has been announced that between January and March the amount of jobs on offer rose to a 43 year high which means that the number of unemployed fell to its lowest rate in more than five years which is very encouraging for the future growth.

The amount of people now in work has risen to 30.43 million which is actual record high and almost ¾ of a million up on the same time frame as last year.

Last year unemployment for the same quarter was 2.52 million compared to the same period this year which is 2.21 million which is a huge difference to people out of work and very encouraging for the future if this decrease can be continued.

Some of the reasons behind this is down to more people being self employed.  Actual figures show that one in seven people are self employed which equates to 4.55 million people. This is the highest level since the records were first started in 1971.  The amount of people working for themselves has risen by 375,000 over the past year.

Some believe that more people are now self employed after being made redundant and struggling to find new employment in tough times following their redundancies. This evidence has not been substantiated.  Despite being self employed a number of these people do not have enough work generated to  help all of the time and a good 1.29 million of these people are working part time, although this is sometimes a matter of choice rather than forced to through personal circumstances etc.

As well as self employment, industries do seem to be doing better and there are job increases and expansions happening in some companies making the jobs within that local community stronger and making the local economy stronger. This is all very important and interesting news for the UK future job market.
