Last updated : 31 May 2014
Tesco are pleased to announce that they are opening a new Express Store in Bow Street, Ireland. They have not yet announced an exact opening date yet but have said that it will be in the next few weeks as they are looking forward to a mid-summer opening.
The new store in Lisburn will create approximately 20 new full and part time jobs for the local residents and will also provide another opportunity for local suppliers to sell their products under the Tesco umbrella. The Lisburn store is looking to stock produce from local companies such as WD Irwin and Sons, Wilson’s Country, Gilfresh, Dale Farm, Tayto and Coca Cola Hellenic. This is a very positive opportunity for local suppliers in Ireland.
The store is to be opened in place of a Birthday card shop which has unfortunately been empty for approx two years so it is good to have a rundown store being transformed and improving the local community. With the opening of this store, it will be the second Tesco store in the City. The first one on Bentrim road opened its doors in 1999 and is rate in the top 3 Tesco stores in Northern Ireland.
The Tesco Express stores are full of essential items for customers such as toilet roll, bread etc but some do offer much more like in store bakeries, cash machines etc to try to accommodate the convenience items people require. The stores are positioned closer to people’s homes and workplaces making the stores very convenient and saving people always going to bigger supermarkets for the little things.
The first store in Ireland to be opened on Bentrim road was refurbished two years ago and currently employs 450 staff. The Lisburn store has also updated its IT system to ensure an even more efficient experience at the checkout.
