Last updated : 31 May 2012
Tesco will create 100 jobs in Little Lever
A new supermarket in Bolton has been given the go-ahead. The store, which is located on Lever Street, Little Lever will replace the Metro on Market Street. This is in keeping with Tesco’s current development of stores all over the UK.
The supermarket will be opened in 2014 and will create roughly 100 new full and part time roles for the local community.
The supermarket received the all clear because of the Government’s regeneration of Brownfield sites. This is the reason why the planning committee voted in favour of the regeneration. It is expected that the store on Market Street will close at the same time of opening.
UPDATE – 20 March 2014
Construction works has just begun to build a new Tesco store in Little Lever. Tesco said: “The site has beeng cleared for construction work to begin on Monday.
“As part of our commitment to being a good neighbour, there will be notices across the site with contact details for our contractors, should residents have any queries about what’s happening.â€
“The staff from our Metro will be moved across. There is no timeline for this yet.â€
Tesco will work with the jobcentre plus and local recruitment agencies to find their staff for this store. You should also search vacancies on tesco-careers.com.
Don’t forget to post your thoughts!
Good luck.
How do we apply for these job vacancies beforehand.
Thanks
Tesco’s store will effect other shops in this area but it will bring lots of jobs which is more important for the community.
