Last updated : 31 August 2014
It can sometimes be difficult to know whether it is worth taking a job even if it is not what you really want. It is worth weighing up the options to see if it is worthwhile.
It can look good on your CV. It can give you experience. It will give you some money. However, it will take up time that you could use to search for the job that you really want. It could get you stuck into a rut of working in a field you do not like.
Has anyone been in this position? Share your experiences so that others can benefit.
It depends what you want to do in the future. If you know that it’s going to lead to a job that you do want, then I would say that it might be worth it. However if you’re doing it just because you think it’s a good job then that’s a more difficult decision, because you don’t want to waste your time in a job that you’re just not enjoying at all.
