Last updated : 5 March 2012
I know who are the hiring managers for this one company that I am going to apply. I wonder if I should contact them directly about my application. I wonder if this is a fair practice and appropriate. Would people look at me differently if I am hired just because I knew them.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this. Also, the hiring manager will probably not be permitted to interview you in case it is seen as being biased. If you do contact them, only do so to allow them to make fair arrangements for your interview so as not to bring in bias.
