Last updated : 19 September 2014
The interview went very well so I think i have secured the job but do you think I should wait for the offer letter before resigning from my job?
Would you wait for the confirmation letter to arrive to you or you would quit your job already?
Thanksss
I would always wait for the confirmation letter. You may have felt it went well, but you may find that there were better candidates than you. It can be tempting to just start preparing for the move to a new job and it can be exciting, however it is sensible to wait for the letter just in case. Hopefully it will arrive soon.
I had an interview myself not so long ago that went very well. But there were a lot of people who also had good interviews, and they couldn’t give everybody the job. Unfortunately, I was one of the ones that didn’t get it, yet I was certain that I would have been one of the lucky ones. So I am glad that I didn’t hand in my notice. You should never do it unless you know you have something to go to.
