My job is:
• To manage the day to day running of 3 Business Information Systems (BIS) (GroupMIS, TescoLink & Contact Manager) on behalf of the business to ensure continuous accurate data is available on demand.
• To identify opportunities to enhance the systems going forward from both users and from feedback/questions/issues from the Helpdesk
• To develop changes/enhancements to the systems to make them as relevant and efficient as possible (Including data analysis and compiling the relevant paperwork (Business requirement documents, roadmaps etc)
• To work cross functionally to deliver our objectives
• To write all training relevant to the BIS systems
• To ‘sell’ the systems across the business to drive usage, including the quarterly newsletter
• To ‘sell’ the systems to external users, such as suppliers or document library users, by attending road shows amongst other methods to drive usage externally
I am a Work Level 2 because:
• All of the development work is cross functional
• I have to manage change and influence people
• I have to be able to think and act by myself
• I have to manage a development budget
• A strong depth of knowledge and understanding of Tesco practices and processes is essential, not only of Commercial but all aspects of the business
