Successful jobs fair advertises hundreds of employment opportunities
Phones4U will create more than 100 jobs as it prepares for increased business before Christmas.
The company, which is based in Chesterton, attended a jobs fair in Hanley this week to advertise 60 vacancies in its head office and 50 posts in a number of its stores. Most of the jobs are permanent but the company is hoping that those who are employed on a temporary basis will be offered permanent contracts in the future.
A spokesman for Phones4U stated that interested applicants didn’t need experience but should demonstrate a real enthusiasm for working and developing a career in the industry. The jobs fair saw people make applications for the company’s vacancies and receive information on the company’s training and career opportunities.
Autonet Insurance also attended the event to publicise 30 available customer service jobs, while engineering firm Goodwin International was recruiting apprentices who will study with the firm for four years at its new academy and receive valuable experience.
Other organisations were also looking for new recruits. Radwell International, which is based in Newcastle, was looking for repair engineers while Search Recruitment discussed 30 posts that they were advertising on behalf of a number of companies and the Army also attended to talk to anyone interested in joining.
Super news, plenty of jobs just before christmas, i wonder how many of the temps have now been offered a perm contract. I really hope that most if not all were, so that they dont have to sign on and look for jobs again
