Peace deal in sight at British Airways as cabin crew offer to take pay cut. This included using 6,000 strikebreaking BA volunteers, 23 privately chartered and fully crewed planes, and a pledge to switch stranded passengers on to rival airlines.
Mr Walsh said: ‘The changes we have made to onboard crew numbers are permanent. They will not be reversed by the threat of a strike. And they will not be reversed if a strike takes place’.
Mr Walsh also pointed out that BA cabin crew are ‘the best paid in the country by some way’ earning an average of £29,900 a year compared with £14,400 at Virgin Atlantic.
