There are also proposals to renew the existing units and modernise the parking and entrance to the retail park.
At present, it consists of nine retail units totalling approximately 13,000 sqm arranged in three buildings, with 480 parking spaces.
Wide-ranging work to knock down and remove the run-down shops and properties from Linwood shopping centre has already commenced, making way for the construction of a new Tesco superstore.
Over 300 jobs are likely to be created when the development is complete, with an opening date in late 2013 expected.
Plans are already in progress to construct a multipurpose mix of new units and shops in the retail park, which will help supply better shopping areas local residents.
A boost in employment opportunities such as this will help to provide a much-needed boost to the local economy as well as attracting a more diverse range of retailers to the area.
Fantastic news for Glasgow. Much needed jobs, and good to see news on job creation, as the tv news is all about companies closing/cost cutting
