Matalan are currently recruiting for a Menswear Buying Controller to head up a dynamic and professional buying department. As a Buying Controller you will be responsible for both the strategic direction and day to day management of the Menswear department, whilst working closely with the Merchandising Controller.

Buying Controller- The role:

• Working closely with the buying team to ensure the product is commercial and meets the customer expectations

• Ensure the objectives of the buying/design department is in line with company strategy

• Work with Directors to maximise company performance and potential

• Able to stimulate the interest of audiences by putting complex situations over in a lively manner with energy and commitment.

• Provides direction by translating the overall business vision into appropriate goals/objectives

• Managing a UK and offshore supply base

• Overall, buying, designing, selling and marketing plan setting a clear strategy and vision in line with customer demands.

Buying Controller- The candidate:

• At least 3 years experience of operating at Controller level

• Hands on experience of direct souring from world markets gained with a high street retailer.

• Experienced in the influencing of both direction and performance
