New M&S development brings 50 new jobs to Middlesbrough
Marks and Spencer will open a new Simply Food store, creating 50 jobs, in Middlesbrough at the end of this year.
The store, which will be located in a unit previously occupied by MFI at Cleveland Retail Park in the South Bank area, will sell the company’s own range of food and drink but will also provide a small selection of clothes, home furnishing items, cards and flowers. It will also house a new cafe, with room for 50 seats, towards the front of the store.
The retailer already has a store in the town centre and a spokesperson for the company indicated that the Simply Food store would bolster the M&S brand in the area. He added that the company is looking forward to opening the new store and bringing additional employment opportunities to the area.
The retail park, which currently has Argos, B&Q and Matalan stores, will also welcome a Frankie and Benny’s restaurant in the near future.
Job seekers are advised to check the company’s website for information on the new vacancies and advice on how to apply or to speak to one of the managers in the town centre store.
