Last updated : 29 October 2014
Hello,
I am currently looking for a job and would be grateful for advice.
I have been working as a janitor for 6 years, prior to that, I was a waiter for a short le time.
Being a janitor have never been my dream and now I am determined to get something more challenging. I decidec to start with office junior/data entry/admin role. Unfortunately, after applying for over 100 roles, I didn’t get a single phone call, not to mention interview,
I am wondering if anyone was in similar situation and would be able to share experience with me.
I did my best to make janitor duties looking as important as possible.
Thanks in advise for your help.
Have you thought about doing some kind of voluntary job to improve your skills? You may not feel as though you have very much time, but even a couple of hours a week is something that would look good on your CV when you were applying for a job. You also have the benefit of being able to talk about anything you do outside of work regarding ICT skills, like if you do anything on the internet etc. There are always ways and means of making things sound more impressive.
