In what can only be described as potentially one of the most modern leisure centres in the UK, the LeisureDome based on the Locking Parklands site in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset is planning to develop a five hectare indoor ski slope.
The three storey high ski slope will stand alongside a skateboard and BMX park, free fall centre, surfing simulator and a climbing wall among retail outlets.
The centre is expected to pull in more than 500 thousand visitors every year. It is believed that it would create roughly 860 jobs in total (which includes 280 for construction and support).
Even though the ski centre is five hectares, it is only expected to fill less than 15% of the total space available.
