I signed on for this last wednesday. Has anyone else done it before, or is still signed on?
Basically, im a little confused as to how i have to prove im looking for jobs. When i signed on the person told me what i had to do each week.
This involved, phone 2 employers a week, write to 1 employer a week. use the job centre website 3 times a week, and use a newspaper 3 times a week.
So does this mean i have to apply for 9 jobs a week?I was then told to record everything i do in a little booklet.
Can anyone whos done this before tell me all the things that they had to do and how they did it.
or if there is anything important that i should know.
The lady who signed me on didnt seem that helpful and she kinda just wanted to rush everything.
Also i have to go back every 2 weeks. This is to show what im doing i guess, but i dont know what to do when i get there.
Help? Advice? Anyone?

So you basically need to phone 2 employers a week, write to 1 employer a week and use the other services and record what you found.
I could not find anything because of the recession and they docked my money just before Christmas aswell.
This whole business is just not worth the hassle but since we all need money to live on then we have to do what we can.
I think the press should basically report this bullying behaviour that these jobcentre staff are doing. It is indeed bullying!
They dont seem to care that there is a recession and thus no jobs available. They seem to expect people to contact employers whether there are advertised vacancies or not. Of course Sainsburys careers website says “if there are no vacancies then dont bother applying”, so that means what the jobcentre staff are telling us jobseekers is just going to show us as being desperate and the employer is going to bin the CV straight away.
Im back there tomorrow.
thanks
