The Brewing firm JW Lees based in Middleton is pleased to announce that they will be creating 1,000 new jobs and investing £67.5 million in a huge expansion plan.
The firm are able to achieve this over the next five years after a record 12 months in sales which will not only result in an employment drive for the area but also improve upon the pubs in the North West area.
JW Lees won the 2013 MEN Business of the Year Award and achieved a turnover of £62.8 million in the year up to 31st March which was 5% up from the previous financial year. In 2010 JW Lees had sales of £51 million, in 2011 that had increased to £53.3 million and in 2012 £56.3 million a very healthy and steady increase allowing the company to be able to reinvest it back into the North West.
This increase has now allowed them to develop further and over the next five years the company will invest a massive £67.5 million through developing 65 new pubs in the North West area.
The Managing Director of JW Lees, William Lees-Jones congratulated everyone in the business who helped to contribute to the success of this last year and to say that they are all looking forward to a bright and successful future. He continued to say that they want to put their people at the heart of their business as without their contributions it would be unachievable and that it was a very proud day for the family business to be announcing such a high recruitment drive in the North West.
The company were toasting its success at a special conference in Manchester City focusing on what they have done right to make this a success and to look forward to a bright future for the people of the North West.
