Is it necessary to have IT qualifications to do an IT job? If so, which ones?
The qualifications you need, will depend on the job that you are going for. However, entry level jobs would usually require a degree in an IT related subject. If you have a lot of work experience in IT but not qualifications, then you may be able to secure a job, although having some formal training will certainly help you.
Have a look at your local college – they may be able to point you in the direction of some relevant courses. Ultimately, if you’re sure that this is the area that you’d like to go into, a degree is the best thing to do. However you should be sure that you’re certain, as obviously it is quite an expensive choice.
