Yes it is safe to provide your National Insurance number. If someone inappropriate comes across your form and tries to steal your identity then they will have a big job ahead of them, as they’ll still have to produce a fake photo ID etc. By law all employers should be checking new starter’s NI number and photographic ID to ensure they match and therefore have a right to work in the UK.
Yes, agree with this. It is perfectly safe, they have to check you are eligible to work in the UK
A national insurance number is not a form of identification that could used for identity fraud and so giving that number should be safe.
