Last updated : 19 September 2014
Unfortunately i have been ill for long time and i couldn’t go to work and i don’t think i wil be able to go back at all. The company i work for is not happy with this situation and they will dismiss me due to being unfit for the work.
So How to resign while on long term sick leave?
Thanks
I think that you would need to send in a resignation letter in the same way that you would if you are not on sick leave. It is worth checking your employment contract to find out what notice you will need to give them so that you can put that in the letter as well.
You should just do things in the same way that you would have done. Are you planning on going for another job at all, or will you be taking time out? A letter to say that you had hoped that you would get better, but that you’re no longer sure that you will be able to work, will suffice. You may have to attend a meeting if it’s possible for you to do so, as they will want to talk about the situation.
