Last updated : 17 September 2013
Amazon.com was founded in 1994 and their headquarters are in Seattle, Washington.
Amazon has grown to be a Fortune 100 company.
Amazon.com endeavours to offer their customers the choice of products at the lowest possible prices selling books, movies, music and games, digital downloads, electronics and computers, home and garden, toys, kids and baby, grocery, apparel, shoes and jewellery, health and beauty, sports and outdoor and tools.
To apply for a role within Amazon.com you can do this online by searching for the relevant job and location then follow the directions on screen. They don’t necessarily take individuals CV’s but do want your resume typing into their online form so it is an idea to have one so that you know all your details and information that they will be looking for.
If you have applied for a role and haven’t heard back from them this is quite normal as they get hundreds of applications so it is unlikely that they will get back to you unless successful for an interview.
Amazon.com’s interview process will be slightly different for different positions but on the whole they seem to conduct a telephone interview first and if that goes well and both parties are interested then they will proceed with an on-site interview with the line manager and a few team mates but after this stage it is down to the team as they are responsible for their own interviews and process.
They seem to work in a casual manner at Amazon.com and actually state on their website that “a suit and tie won’t impress anyone here†however I would wear something you are comfortable in but smart casual, nothing like ripped jeans or anything to an interview please.
