Frome to have major job boost in the next few years
The small city of Frome in northeast Somerset will see a major job boost in the next few months. As well as the new Family Bargains store (part of the 99p stores group) opening at the end of May creating 35 roles, Asda’s have announced some good news as well.
However, the good news does not stop there. The Asda store in Frome has just finished submitting planning application to increase the size of the store. If this goes ahead, then another 35 roles will be created. These plans were submitted on the strength of a public consultation, which will help with the potential acceptance of the plans. The development will include a bigger cafe, a home shopping hub, warehouse improvements and a new mezzanine floor all of which would bring in a variety of roles. It is believed that the application will be approved in the next couple of months.
