Sainsbury’s has revealed plans for expanding its Foss Bank, York store with the addition of around 930 square metres.

The project, if given approval by the City of York Council, will see the creation of about 40 new job vacancies at the store.

Sainsbury’s propose to remodel the existing supermarket’s floor layout, increase the sales area, and add in an online delivery service and loading bay. There will also be improved facilities for shoppers and a new covered trolley storage area. Planners are expected to decide on the scheme in June.
