Job Title: ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Location: Production Department, Haverhill (near Cambridge)

About you: The ideal candidate will be young, hard working and energetic with a knowledge of electrical systems and engineering. Ideally you will have a degree in electronic or electrical engineering. However, HERMA UK will accept entries from candidates with an HNC or HND. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
Experience in PLC programming and using EPLAN software would be advantageous.
About the job: HERMA UK is achieving record growth year on year, and is looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to fill a vacant position due to an in-house promotion. You will work as part of a four man team (two Mechanical Design Engineers, two Electrical) which will be designing high quality labelling machinery for some of the world’s biggest companies (GSK, Akzo Nobell etc).
Your part in the team will be to design electrical control systems and program PLCs which will operate the machinery. Every machine is bespoke to the customer, so your role will be diverse and varied and will require a high level of attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
To design electrical control systems ensuring quality, accuracy and that the finished products comply with the standards expected of all HERMA Labelling Systems equipment.
Main Duties:
Hardware design of electronic / electrical control systems.
Some software design for the above electronic / electrical systems.
Ensure that electrical design and manufacture complies with the Machinery Directive.
Liaise with new and existing suppliers regarding technical issues.
Updating electrical documentation and ensuring documentation is available before machines are despatched.
When required assess and repair electrical components / equipment.
Occasionally travel to company headquarters in Stuttgart for technical training and new product briefings.
Assist other members of staff when required.
Comply with all standard working procedures as issued by HERMA.
Meet and adhere to standard HERMA housekeeping guidelines.
Occasionally aiding production engineers in the build of machines.About HERMA UK:
