Lincolnshire Co-operative seeks to open another store
The Lincolnshire Co-operative has submitted an application to North Lincolnshire Council to build a new store on a former residential site in Crowle in the Isle of Axeholme. If approval is given by the local authority, the new site would create welcome investment in the area and provide 14 full-time and part-time jobs in the area.
The new store would offer extended opening hours from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm seven days a week and, assuming that the green light is given, work would start on the construction phase early next year. The plan is for the store to open a number of months later.
The new application follows approval that has been given for a 3,000 sq ft store, costing over £1 million, in Haxey. Construction starts this month and the store is expected to open in the spring of 2013. 14 jobs will also be created at this location when it opens and recruitment will start within the local area in the near future.
The organisation boats more than 22,000 dividend-sharing members in the region. The two developments represent a significant expansion in the company’s retail presence in the North Lincolnshire area.
What do you think about a new Co-op store in Lincolnshire? Would you apply for their job vacancies?
