Last updated : 7 November 2012
Job applications for the new Center Parcs are over-subscribed by eight to one already, despite it still being in construction. Nearly 11,000 people have expressed an interest in 1,500 jobs at the £250m holiday village being built in Bedfordshire.
Center Parcs Woburn Forest will provide 1,500 job opportunities including chefs, beauty therapists, grounds assistants, housekeepers and waiting staff and many more opportunities besides. Center Parcs offers career development opportunities as well as attractive, unique benefits.
Center Parcs Woburn Forest has created in excess of 1200 jobs during the construction phase alone.
Back in February, together with owners Blackstone, Center Parcs secured the £250m funding to commence the construction phase. Construction work has begun on the new Center Parcs resort at Warren Wood near Woburn and it is due to open in 2014.
The development will include 625 forest lodges, a 75-bedroom hotel, a swimming pool and a lake.
It will be Center Parcs’ fifth UK resort and with the rise of the ‘staycation’ the popularity of the parks is set to increase. Last year it was voted best holiday park in the UK.
The group has existing sites at Whinfell Forest in Cumbria, Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Elveden Forest in Suffolk, and Longleat Forest in Wiltshire.
Excellent, I love Center Parcs and a new one to visit is going to be great. I can well believe that they are over subscribed with the amount of people applying for jobs at the moment, so good luck to all that have and dont be too disappointed if you are not one of the 1500 chosen. Things appear to be looking up on the employment front, so many new jobs being created!
