Last updated : 27 May 2014
A Glasgow based construction company, CCG is pleased to announce that they are recruiting again following a difficult period in the construction industry and that finally it seems as though the construction industry looks like it is showing signs of recovery.
The Glasgow based company already has 600 employees and with these additional 40 recruits including ex Armed Forces personnel makes the workforce much stronger for the future and allows them to continue delivering projects as they have promised.
Ex Armed Forces personnel are helped back into work through the Glasgow Veterans’ employment programme making things easier for them to find work after returning from a career in the Armed Forces. The scheme was set up by Council Leader Gordon Matheson.
CCG are playing a major part in improving the physical and social regeneration of Glasgow through their hard work and commitment to various projects. The construction company used the £10 million plant to help build 238 sustainable homes at the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village in just 10 short days. This extra recruitment will enable them to do more of this production and strengthen their team.
CCG whilst trying to improve Glasgow and surrounding areas appreciate that building new sustainable homes is important but creating jobs where unemployment is high is also important. They plan to deliver a further 3500 new affordable houses across the City by 2017 and to date they are currently half way towards that promise.
By helping ex Armed Forces back into work, CCG are making a huge difference to their lives at a time when they find it difficult to get into a civilian career and this has made them get their lives back on track.
The plant that they will be working from is a state of the art construction facility with all the latest technology and equipment.
