Last updated : 3 March 2019
Yes you can make your application for jobseekers allowance online, although you will still have to attend an interview at a job centre before the process is started and sign-on at the job centre every week or fortnightly. If you are applying for other benefits as well as job seekers allowance (such as housing benefit) then you will have to call the jobseekers helpline and apply over the telephone or by post.
Was going to say, yes, you can apply online but you will still need to attend the Job Centre in person at least once a week
You will have to go to the job centre in person to sign on each week. Signing on is a process where you sign to say that you have been actively looking for work but not found any. You will need be there in person to prove that you have not gone away on holiday or something like that. You may also be required to attend interviews to discuss what you are doing to look for work and possibly to be given any opportunities to apply for. The form filling can be done online though.
