Cambridge University Press (CUP) are proposing to close their warehouse on Shaftesbury Road, Cambridge and move the facility to the DHL Warehouse in Rushden, Northamptonshire. This would leave the depot’s 49 staff facing redundancy.
The affected staff have been told that they can have the option of transferring to Rushden or one of DHL’s other sites when the Shaftesbury Road warehouse finally closes at the end of this year.
CUP are still currently in talks with DHL regarding the storage and subsequent distribution of their books on Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
