Butters Group the Westside, Spalding based pot plant company proposes to invest £700,000 in refurbishing the old nursery and building a new packing house.
The company has sales of £40m and already employs 500 people at their 200,000 sq ft site in Spalding, Lincolnshire, processing plants from all over the world as well as home-grown products. Customers of the pot plant supplier include Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury, Tesco, Waitrose, ASDA, B&Q, Interflora and Next – supplying products for sale in-store of home delivery.
The reinvestment has created a 1.6 hectare glasshouse to cultivate bedding plants and bulbs and a 2,100 square metre packhouse where bouquets are packed and issued to supermarkets and florists.The plant nursery will create 25 full-time and part-time new job vacancies and the packhouse will provide a further 25 job vacancies.
