British workers face second year of pay freezes, CBI warns
British workers are facing a second straight year of pay freezes in the spring, the Confederation of British Industry warned yesterday.
Employers are set to refuse pay rises as unemployment continues to rise – despite the country being expected to technically exit recession.
Britain is set to come out of recession in the fourth quarter, the CBI said, predicting growth of 0.5 per cent in the final three months of the year.
