Last updated : 17 October 2011
If planning permission is approved by Cherwell District Council then Whitbread (the owners of Brewers Fayre) plan to start building work on a site in Bicester early next year. It is fully expected that this planning permission will be approved because the company has already spent over £2 million on this rather large site.
This site will create 50 jobs across the pub and hotel sector. If approved, it will have a large 220 cover pub/restaurant and an 80 bedroom hotel, both of which will need to be filled almost as soon as they open. Furthermore, this site is currently being developed into a 1,600 home housing estate and shops and schools.
It is expected that the pub /hotel will open in late 2012, and as of yet it has not been named. Brewers Fayre have been in the news of late because their boss Ian Dyson has stepped down after being in charge of the company for just over a year.
