£200 million investment in Braehead Shopping Centre to create jobs.
A £200 million investment for development in the Braehead Shopping Centre could bring with it 5,000 jobs. The busy complex will be extended to include a new department store, hotel and a sports and entertainment arena if the plans are approved. Roughly 3,000 jobs will be created in the stores and complexes and 2,000 temp jobs on construction. The jobs will be awarded from a centre on site, if development gets underway.
This development has been welcomed by many, and is the second bit of good news that the area has seen in recent weeks after the introduction of 120 jobs in Paisley Retail Park. The development will also see a new public transport interchange, which should hopefully create more jobs in this sector.
