is it advisable to quote a fixed salary or give a range
April 6, 2010 at 11:02 pm #33986AnonymousGuestHi, I work for boots for the past 6 years and I love it.. it is a great company to work for. as for the interview, i would suggest dressing respectable in something like a shirt and trousers. boots are also very big into team work so make sure to mention that you work well in a team and maybe say examples of how you worked well in a team in a previous job or maybe in something else such as work carried out for school or something. also make sure to let them know that you are aware that the customer is always right and say that if you had an ‘awkward’ customer you should always be very nice towards them no matter how angry they get with you and that if there were any issues you would report it straight to the manager. boots is very big into customer care also so keep this in mind!!! I hope this helps… they sometimes use role play as an interview method whereby the interviewer pretends to be a customer and asks for advice between two products one being a boots product and another being a different brand. so be prepared for things like this just in case!! they dont want you to know what they products are, if you do though that would be a plus, but they mainly look at how you react to a customer with a question on the spot, so dont act shy, speak up.. Good luck with the interview

November 23, 2012 at 9:57 am #33990AnonymousGuestA Friend of mine went for an interview with boots (2 actually, for different stores). He has a temporary job over the christmas period, it is going well already for him as they are offering him more hours already! I’m crossing my fingers for him as he really needs this to go perm after christmas, he was made redundant from his last job and needs something to help with the living expenses of his family. I think he had to “present” a new product too in his interview.
December 23, 2012 at 5:06 pm #33991AnonymousGuestIn terms of a dress code, it’s pretty much the same for every interview you go to in most cases.
For firms and companies such as Boots, just stick with dressing smart.
For men, a smart suit is advised, but don’t go too over the top and look like you’re dressing for a dinner party.
For women, again, smart suits with either a knee-length skirt or trousers. Avoid low cut tops and heels that are too high.
