Boots store assessments are really easy. Its very straight forward. you will be asked some very basic jobs in the store. Its wise to see the store before your interview.
You might be asked below questions;
Can you find the cheapest paracetemol in the store?
Hand the baskets to the customers,
Offer the customers Boots Advantage Card,
I got to the interview 10 mins early, the interviewer arrived 10 mins late. she took me into like a small room, and like another female interviewer joined her.
She started asking me questions, like ‘why do you wanna work for boots?’, ‘what are you studying?’, ‘what can you bring to the job?’, ‘name a time you dealt with a challenge’, I answered all of them (thank god I prepared lol). Then she made me pick a card at random, which had a scenario on it. which was ‘A mother walks in store, and says her son wants to start shaving, what can you advise’. I was happy, cause I knew exactly where to go in store, and what promotional offer were available. She gave me 10 mins, I picked gilette fusion razor which was on offer for half price, and gillete shaving cream. She ask why those products, I emphasized the promotional offer. She asked ‘did you consider anything else’. I mentioned other offers available.
she asked more questions, like ‘how would you deal with a aggravated customer’ etc. At this point it was 20 mins in the interview.
She then comes out with ‘I’m very impressed by you, and usually I would wait a few hours, but I want to offer you the job now’. I was shocked lol, offered a job on the spot, anyway the rest is boring, like evenings and weekends etc. what area in the store etc.,
My induction is next week thursday, and she said i start properly on the 6th.

September 19, 2009 at 9:06 pm #33973AnonymousGuestI had my interview today, was meant to be last week but I couldn’t make it so had to re arrange.
Went in early, looked about the shop to make sure I knew where the cheap paracetamol was!!
Asked at the till where I should go, the girl rang upstairs and I waited a bit before a man came down and took me up the canteen to wait.
The interviewer came to get me and we went into another room, basically she told me a bit about herself and she said we’re going to be doing some tasks on the shop floor.
First stop was handing out baskets, I was really embarrassed. I just picked one up and stood about the entrance, I said to people coming in hello, do you need a basket today? everyone said no.
Next, the interviewer gave me some advantage card leaflets to hand out. I said to people hello, do you have an advantage card? Most said yes, one said no I then said can I give you a leaflet all about the advantages of having the card? she said she already had the leaflet.
We then went and had a look about the gift section, with all the deals, this wasn’t part of the interview. I got really excited over some things, all the 3 for 2’s.
I then went on to pack some bags, that was easy enough.
Upstairs to get the paracetamol, easy, was done in 2 seconds.
Went back to the office and was asked, ‘why do you want to work for boots?’ ‘what can you bring to boots?’ ‘what hours are you looking for?’
Any questions? I asked about uniforms and if they kept on temp staff after Christmas.
She took my ID. Said they have interviews tomorrow and Friday. Someone will be in touch start of next week.
I actually really enjoyed myself at the interview. I hope that I get a job. I’d love to work there.
October 4, 2009 at 7:27 pm #33974AnonymousGuestIt could take a month for some of your guys to even get a response! I’ve been waiting for a few weeks on my first application at one store. A couple of weeks on my second application at another store. and 1 week for my third (and final) application at another store.
That damn test they make you fill in for every single application is horrible. Some questions are so ambiguous.
I hope I get a reply soon. Even if it’s a “Sorry!”. I hate just waiting, makes me think they are scrutinising my responses or something!
