After merging Alliance Pharmacy and Boots together, Boots have succeeded in building further upon their impeccable reputation for being the top class international pharmacy and retail outlet.
Although it has been reported that the health and beauty company will be cutting 900 employees from their Nottingham base, they will be taking on around 7000 employees on a temporary basis across the nation in order to deal with consumer demand over the Christmas period.
Applying for a position with Boots
With many retailers up and down the country already stocking some of their Christmas goods, it is unsurprising that Boots are taking applications already for the temporary positions over the festive season. The application process has two main sections.
Online application – applicants will need to fill out a form giving their basic details. Once this has been completed and sent off, Boots will send an online assessment form via email. This is to be completed and returned. The purpose of the form is to assess the qualities which the applicant may or may not have which will prove that they are the correct candidate for the position.
In store Assessment – An interview will take place followed by a practical test where candidates must showcase their talents as good customer service representatives. Boots pride themselves on having exceptional customer service throughout the franchise, so applicants may well want to brush up on their customer service skills before attending this stage of the process.
With demand for casual staff being so high at this time of year, the whole application moves quickly in relation to any other time of year. Candidates can expect to know the outcome of their application within a week of starting the process in most cases.
It is important to remember though, that retailers such as Boots will need staff to work bank holidays and other days which other job sectors do not. It is essential that anyone applying for a position there understands this and is prepared to work the given hours.
Benefits of Working at Boots
Temporary employees at Boots can enjoy a range of benefits including:
- Employee discount on all products
- In store experience
- Full Training
- Good work environment
Going forward, casual employees may well be offered a chance to make their position more permanent should there be a free position and if the employee has proven their worth over the busy period.
Visit boots.jobs site to apply for the positions.
