Bents garden centre in Glazebury, near Warrington, Cheshire has just received planning permission from Warrington Council for an impressive £10m expansion.
The proposals will allow the family-run business to offer a larger sales area and increase the area for plant-growin to offer a show area for local produce and over four hectares of ecological garden for wildlife including a wetlands habitat. The site already employs 320 people and receives 1m visitors. Bents expect that this expansion will create 121 new full-time and part-time job vacancies over the next 5 years.
Bents garden centre was established 75 years ago and the recently published figures indicate a turnover of £13.5m and a profit of almost £1m.
