Last updated : 30 September 2014
Can anyone let me know what the advantages would be of taking a career in the armed forces as opposed to a civilian equivalent. So, for example, if I wanted a job as a chef and chose the army over a restaurant would it be worth while? Has anyone made this choice, not necessarily as a chef, but in any career and thought that it was a good or poor decision?
As with working for anyone, it is well worth considering what that place has to offer you. Look at the specific role and then look at more detail about the company/army you will be working for. Look at long term and short term benefits and consider which you think will be the best for you. It will be down to individual choice as to whether you think one is better for you than the other.
