Most companies need IT staff and so does this mean that they are the most secure jobs that you can get?
There are lots of jobs that all companies need as well as IT staff, such as receptionists, cleaners and data entry staff. There are redundancies in IT, just as there is in other professions. However, there are also jobs that are specialist. There may be more demand for these because less people have those skills. Therefore it is hard to say whether IT jobs are more secure than any other type.
I would certainly suggest that if you’re looking for a career in a growing rather than shrinking sector, then IT is one that you can be the most certain of. You should be careful to always have a backup plan, though, no matter which job you’re in. That way, you can always be aware that you have another choice if something happens.
