Hi,
I am really struggling to get work.
I know exactly what i want to do which is become a property developer (self-employed). However in order to do that i would need to save up quite a lot of money which would probably take a few years, I’m willing to do that but as I can’t get a job it’s been quite impossible.
My longest and first serious job lasted for 18 months, it’s been just over a year since i left that job and I’ve struggled to find work since. I’ve had a few short term jobs but nothing that my hearts really been in and it’s never lasted.
My CV is perfect as i usually get a large response but it’s the interview which i fail. The feedback is always the same (“you were so lovely and appear very intelligent but you lack confidence and i don’t think you can handle the role”). This has mostly been for admin roles in estate agencies, ideally i would like to apply for letting/sales agent roles but i don’t have my driver’s licence as yet. i have a test coming up so hopefully i pass after many failed attempts. But if i can’t get a simple admin role i don’t know if i could get a role as a lettings agent.
I personally do not feel as if I’m not confident but considering I’ve gotten that response from 20+ interviews it must be true, even when i try to appear confident it’s still the feedback i get.
In an ideal world i would have saved for a deposit by now to purchase my first property. im 22 next week and its quite depressing.I’ve thought about sites which allow you to pitch (beg) for money such as outrageous requests. i read in another forum that the ones where you have to pay usually get the most responses. However in order to get a deposit for a flat i would need to ask for a lot of money (25k), which I’m not sure would work. Also with no source of income in not sure any banks would give me a mortgage.
Another option I’ve thought of is reaching out to property developers and ask for a job/ internship?
I’ve wasted over a year and i really don’t know what to do at this stage, I’m quite eager to raise funds to get a property and start renting it out. -
