Further to your advertisement in the London Standard last Friday, I would like to apply for the position of hospitality manager.

I have several years’ experience in a similar role, but on a smaller scale. I currently have overall responsibility for four dining rooms and 3 function rooms in addition to ten meeting rooms. I have many staff members who are managed by heads of department and they, in turn report to me.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the three years spent evolving the role to the present level. I feel that I am now ready to progress my career in a larger organisation where I can further my interest in food and have a greater overall input within the company. I have many ideas for expanding the role beyond its present remit. You indicated in the advertisement that you welcome suggestions from senior managers and encourage them to become more involved in the business.

I have enclosed a copy of my CV, together with details of my qualifications which I hope you will find interesting.
